Either way, it's coming up on 3 weeks since the Air India crash which means an initial report should come out soon. Puts a few months out? Company is an absolute dumpster fire. This year so far 3 Boeing planes have had power cut out, one fell fatally (the Air India flight) and two fell thousands of feet before recovering mid-plunge. I cannot believe this piece of utter dogshit is still afloat. But maybe that's about to change. It reminds me a little of how UNH took some time to go down. At least Embraer ($ERJ) has done amazing this year and only better since the Air India crash, looks like they're the company best positioned to steal business from Boeing in the future. Airbus is booked solid for the next 10 years so it can't affect their bottom line very much.

So buy calls when UNH goes under 300 then buy puts when it goes over 310?

And they're on clearance sale, too. I'm holding my UNH and I wish I could have gotten more when it was under $270. It's not going to be a tenbagger or anything but it's practically guaranteed gains and I think it will match or exceed the S&P500 for the next couple of years.

I’m using what some refer to as a barbell strategy. 25% cash, 25% defensive value stocks like BTI, UNH, TAP. The last 50% are fairly valued growth stocks like GOOGL, AMD, SMCI, AMZN
Market timing is never wise but things are highly valued, cash pays a decent yield, and the political atmosphere is volatile.

Consumer staples and healthcare. Loaded up on GIS, UNH and CNC during those big dips.

You have a bias that's very distorted from reality. Have you looked at people's portfolios? They only have the same values, all of them. And no, UNH is not in the top 5.

I’ve said this before, but over the longer term I equate UNH to what WFC went through. Longstanding large company with a legacy (not all good) but simply too big to fail. UNH will rise again, just as WFC did.
Doesn’t mean you have to like the company or how they make their money. But from an investment perspective it will be fine. Patience will be the biggest challenge.
