I am glad that innovation is finally moving along. Intel was such a dead company for so long that AMD was focused on milking incremental improvements for as long as possible. I have never seen a pace of innovation in semi hardware tech that matches what exists now and I’ve been paying attention since the early 1990’s. If AI hadn’t happened, we wouldn’t be talking about Optics or advanced packaging etc. as if they would happen in the next couple years, but here we are.
As for the power thing, if it’s BSPDN (backside power delivery network) then TSMC is already developing their version of it called SPR (super power rail). It’s supposed to launch with N2 so NVDA likely uses it since Huang has already said they’ll be using every new fab or packaging technology coming out to maintain the lead.
