Gotta be careful with MO. We have some sell off fear in the market and it will pop quick.

No. Republicans take away health insurance from people all the time. Its their MO. They cut medicaid, they tried to eliminate the ACA by creating an ACA light.
They do not care about the working class. My mother works 55-60 hr weeks to be able to afford to live. She deserves an avenue to affordable Healthcare. The democrats see that. The Republicans are doing nothing about it.
They literally said everyone dies eventually.

MO Midcap vs MO Midcap Index
Which one is recommended?

Ok!
I still think you should drop Next 50.
You should also look to replace MO Mid Cap with MO Mi Cap Index Fund.

I highly recommend you go through this wiki https://www.reddit.com/r/mutualfunds/s/8gmtEyK14x for basic knowledge and before you invest any money.
1. You don’t need more than 4 funds and these should be the 4 funds.
a. PPFC - Good pick! Good downside protection, consistent returns. This is ideally your core fund. Drop SBI Contra
b. Nifty 50 Index - Pick a Nifty 50 Index fund, they almost always beat an activity managed large cap. Look at one with lower tracking error and second preference for lower expense ratio. Drop Canara Large, and Axis Large and Mid Cap.
c. Mid cap - Nippon Mid cap is ok, Look at MO Mid Cap Index Fund.
d. Small cap - 3 is too many, drop atleast one Small Cap.
2. PPFC is a flexi cap fund, it has large cap exposure now, it won’t be the same always. It will change with market conditions and strategies. Just putting two names in a portfolio overlap and seeing overlap is not the way!

Child’s education horizon is cutting it a little too close to comfort. You ideally want to stay invested for 7-10 years. So I don’t think equity funds is the way to go, maybe you could withdraw a small portion as the goal draws nearer from your main portfolio. Plus you mostly will have SGB maturing similar time?
1. My recommendation would be to swap out Nifty Next 50 for Nifty 50.
2. Swap out MO Mid Cap to MO Mid Cap Index.

1. Thanks for the link. I will review that.
2a. When I started my journey, I had an eye on the MO S&P 500 Index Fund. I wanted to choose one AMC for one fund type, and at that point Mirae Midcap looked equally lucrative, so I chose it over MO Midcap. I thought I would venture into the American market through the other fund, but it seems like that door is closed now.
2b. I found PPFC's AUM was much higher for my liking and there were many overlaps if I chose it, with my other existing funds. Quant's value was pretty impressive then, and their statistical models impressed me. Their past returns were also very decent, so I chose it.
2c. Axis over Nippon was a choice without much brainer. While Nippon had better past returns, I just chose Axis.

This has just left me in shock!
You’re telling me I don’t need to look at my PPFC, Nifty 50, Mid, and small caps and go all into MO Nifty 500?
This sounds too easy, what am I not thinking/seeing here?
