ICE stacking up outside the CONCACAF as we speak. 🥭 considering sending the Marines on to the field

Really trust Donald Trump? From Medicaid's receivers to immigrants being hunted by ICE. And what about the tariffs? Is that just a distraction so that he could pump-and-dump the stock market?

How exactly is giving ICE 100 billion good for the economy? At the very least, it will hurt demand side of the economy because undocumented purchasing power will dwindle

He exercised enough power in 6 months that it doesn’t really matter. ICE funding is secured. They can’t really reverse anything that was passed in this bill. They’re not dumb, doing stuff fast was on purpose.

I mean, if you really want to do quant, it's not as hard as people portray it to be. Like, sure, at top firms it's hard, but working for like, the ICE, or S&P, is not terribly difficult out of a good UG or half decent MFE. There are likely 5X the number of quant jobs off wall street than on it. Commodities firms, fintechs, ratings agencies, insurance. They all need good quants.
For data science, it's mixed, because you'll be qualified, but many quants might find it boring because it's an ambiguous role. At Google, you're more of an MLE. At Meta, you're a SQL Monkey. So look skeptically at each firm you end up applying to.

There is no denying it. EVs will decimate ICE. Not if, only when.

How much you wanna bet with the $175 BILLION allocated for ICE, Trump is gonna hire a bunch more ICE Gestapo every month for a while to help juice the unemployment numbers? With that money he could literally hire probably half a million more enforcers over the rest of his term.

Time bro. For fucks sakes time exists and these things are just getting started. Y’all will look at a country that has a police state for 6 decades and compare it to us which is just starting. The big beautiful bill is giving ICE more money that they entire Russian military. 120 billion.
Trump is expanding the police state while shrinking the parts of government that help Americans like Medicaid, research, weather monitoring etc.
Why are you so ignorant?

Have you ever seen a police state? You can accuse Trump of shrinking government and getting rid of bureaucracy while at the same time create a police state…with what, ICE? Do you people even listen to yourselves?

I'm a pro-gun socialist, but there's no way that issue is going to get me to vote Republican.
I think as more minorities become armed, you'll begin to see Republican stance on guns start to swing back toward restriction, like they were during the 60's and 70's (most notably, read up on Reagan's time as governor of California).
On a historic scale, it's pretty absurd that gun restrictions are currently associated with the "left", and this is one of those areas that is ripe for shuffling, not unlike the shift of racial politics that happened in the mid 20th century. At the minimum, I would expect both parties to align on restriction, the way they seem to have on immigration and deportation.
One possible inciting event would be if anybody defends themselves against ICE (or those masked, badgeless agents acting as ICE) using a gun. That'll get the GOP to support weapon restrictions real fast.

I love these fake LARPing bull posts by bears.
"Made up X thing to get hysterical about but still moon bc market retarded LOL!!!"
I mean yea if half the country worked for ICE that would be bearish. But if we massively expand ICE those people still spend money and grow the economy short term.

Lame, the tariffs would have tanked the stock market if TACO boy had some balls.
Now we will see how you guys deal with 50% on aluminum, 25% tariffs on Mexico & Canada, 20% tariffs on Vietnam, 50% tariffs on China.. Because those countries better be paying for those tariffs.
Oh, and the ICE raids on cheap labour, drop in foreign tourists. You guys definitely got all the cards..

**Comparison of VW with Other OEM SDV Approaches**
QNX is the foundational RTOS for all of these OEMs except TSLA.
**General Motors (GM): Consolidation and Service Orientation (Ultifi)**
**Approach:** GM is pursuing a strategy of consolidating its software and services under a single umbrella (Ultifi platform), aiming for a service-oriented architecture (SOA). They are also making significant investments in internal software development.
**Comparison with VW:** Both VW (CARIAD) and GM (Ultifi) are consolidating software efforts internally. GM's Ultium platform (battery/electric) and Ultifi (software) together form a comprehensive SDV strategy. GM has also experienced software-related "hiccups," indicating that building this capability is challenging for all incumbents.
**Mercedes-Benz: Premium and Proprietary (MB.OS)**
**Approach:** Mercedes-Benz is developing its proprietary MB.OS operating system, investing significantly (€1.3 billion). They are also embracing a zone-based architecture.
**Comparison with VW:** Both are premium European OEMs investing heavily in proprietary OS. Mercedes, being a single-brand entity (compared to VW Group's numerous brands), might have a more focused and potentially faster execution on its core software, though still faces immense complexity.

**BMW: Nimble Premium Player:**
**Approach:** BMW, also a premium brand, is similarly focused on in-house software development. Its smaller size and less complex organizational structure compared to VW or Stellantis allows it to be more agile in its SDV transformation.
**Comparison with VW:** Similar intent to control core software, but BMW's relative agility due to its brand structure is a key differentiator.
**Ford: Strategic Restructuring and Externalization:**
**Approach:** Ford has restructured into separate business units (ICE, BEV/SDV, Commercial) to fund and accelerate its transformation. Its decision to pull back on the Argo AI joint venture suggests a shift towards more controlled internal development or a different partnership model for autonomous driving.
**Comparison with VW:** Both have made significant strategic shifts in their AD/SDV approach (VW with CARIAD, Ford with Argo AI exit). Ford's business unit separation is a distinct organizational strategy to accelerate its SDV pivot.
