Leaving DRIP on makes tax loss harvesting more complicated.
Even when in the accumulation phase I preferred to take dividends in cash, and used them to rebalance my asset allocations.
In retirement they go into my core cash account that funds my living expenses,

TROW. I use the premiums to pay for more shares to hold long. It's pulled back a lot recently, but that just means I can sell puts and buy shares lower, and the DRIP is buying me more shares, so I'm not worried at all.

Going to buy $500 worth on DRIP and leave alone. If by some long shot its still profitable in 5-10 years it will be a win

There are a number of all in one ETFs diversified by sector and geographically.
I personally have XBAL 80/20 growth and XBAL 60/40 balanced. They auto rebalance themselves and you can also setup DRIP in Wealth simple. To automatically reinvest dividends back into the funds.
When you do that you've basically copied what you get from a ROBO, with the flexibility to have more than one risk profile with different buckets.

Np, glad I could help! I suggest turning on the DRIP (Dividend Reinvestment Program) feature when you open your account, it’ll automatically reinvest any dividends you earn. Pays big in the long run if you don’t withdraw.

There certainly nothing wrong with that, but with any dividend payments from JEPQ, you’ll probably going to DRIP them back into mor JEPQ or some other EFT. I don’t think you’re likely to take the dividend as cash for spending money. I mean you could. But your investment profile doesn’t seem like that’s the plan. So you are *probably* better off going for more growth vs dividend income for a long time now.
But either way you are crushing it by starting early. Keep the discipline up and your future self is going to love it.

Long-term. I may poke my head in from time to time, but I just want to "set it and forget it" for the most part. I know little, but I do like the idea of DRIP. A little more "settings it and forgetting it" kind of thing. I don't know about anything else.

What services are you looking for in a brokerage? Are you buy-and-hold long-term investing, or day trading, or somewhere in between? Do you need options? Advanced charting? Fractional shares? DRIP? Journaling / NG? Personalized customer service?

You can pay capital gains now or capital gains later. Sell all LT positions and keep enough cash on the side to pay the tax bill. Turn DRIP off, wait for the ST positions to become LT, then repeat.
You can’t replicate VTI with individual stocks without frequently selling individual stocks to match market cap and paying capital gains.

If mutual funds are ok, FTIHX seems to get better results at a lower price than VXUS.
Otherwise, I'll be downvoted for this, but VYMI has a little bit of quality control built into its index - think large cap, blue chip style ex-US investment. With DRIP, it has radically outperformed VXUS.

I've got no problem putting 3-5% of my portfolio in ULTY and squeezing every penny out of it. Weekly payouts get redistributed into JEPI, JEPQ, and FEPI. I use DRIP for payouts on those three ETFs.
NAV hasn't eroded for me as I'm still money to the good. If I get down, I will have to analyze payouts received in aggregate vs NAV loss to assess my profit / loss picture and make a decision to either sell, or stay the course.

Agree, I love the idea of owning SCHD but I am decades from retirement (hopefully) so putting money into, even with DRIP, would be a total waste of opportunities.

Sure can!
1. MO - has become my new favorite recently. It has a steady and reliable yield of \~7% annually. This comes in with a long-term standing of consistent dividend payouts as well. Seemed to be a good pillar to uphold the portfolio. DRIP is on with this stock, and I'm pouring the rest of my dividend payouts into it until it starts to snowball properly.
2. VOO - due to it primarily following the S&P 500. Has consistent historical dividend payouts. Acts as another pillar for my portfolio. It does have a slower yield, but I can sleep comfortably at night knowing it will remain steady in the storm.
3. AAPL - The first significant investment I made was back when I started in 2020. It has a decent growth rate of approximately 4-5% annually and an excellent track record of growth over the years. It also has an excellent record of dividend payouts, although the P/E ratio is a bit high.

From start of 2021 till end of 2024 average return with DRIP = 10.48%. Seems... not bad. But, that's not where to focus.
Index ETFs are designed to follow a certain methodology. Those methodologies will come in and out of favor over the years. Choosing a solid meth and holding through the ups and the downs will allow shares to be bought at lows as well as highs. (Caution should be paid, for some methodologies are just shy of long term worthless and their returns a high factor of luck.)
If you are selling every time an solid ETF is lagging, switching into a fund that has a high return for that year or two then you are by definition buying high and selling low.
Do you like SCHD's methodology? Does it move you towards your long term goal? If you are a long term holding type then the meth is the only thing that matters.
Many people buy ETFs based on past performance, which is a mistake. Most ETFs reconstitute every year (if not more). The very stocks that made the past performance may not even be in the ETFs now. The stocks come and go, it's the methodology that endures.
Pick some ETFs whose methodology plays well with each other, pick some percentages, feed it on the regular, have some patience, try not to tinker. The recipe has always been simple, it's the doing that is hard.
Good luck.

I don’t see in the OP where it says wants it apart from Roth. Says OP has one and wants additional income. I mean, an average ~11% return with DRIP is far from junk, but OK
