The comment I responded to was “**Of course they are, dear. The prior administration got alot done. DEI, practically open border, record high inflation**…and…..and…I can’t think of anything else right now but there must be something.”
You weren’t pointing out things you thought were positives about the prior administration, so please stop with the nonsense. If you read my first comment I clearly stated that some DEI initiatives have not been implemented appropriately, and what you personally experienced does not negate the positives of DEI.

Just because some initiatives have gone too far does **not** mean DEI as a whole is bad. You made a blanket statement about DEI, that is what I am calling you on.

The original point has gotten lost here. Things got carried away and DEI went too far.

If corporations can save 16% why don’t they just hire all women?
Yes DEI has been around a long time. My point from the beginning is it had gotten out of control. At one point a few years ago, in one F100 that I consult with, employees were all taking classes about their micro aggressions. The white employees were racists even if they weren’t. It was out of control. Not all bad.
I have hired hundreds of employees and look harder for qualified yet diverse talent. I understand the value and intent of DEI. It simply went too far.
I am very serious about being discriminated against. You really have no idea, like I said. I also grew up poor which is another whole experience where other white people discriminate against you as you try to make something of yourself. I’m not a racist or a sexist. But for a few years it felt like I was guilty just for being a white guy.

I don’t deny my dislike of Trump, but my comment in response to what you said wasn’t about Trump. You call me a sheep because I point out facts; I like facts so if that makes me a sheep I will proudly wear that label. Women are paid on average 16% less than men, that’s a fact. I don’t know if you are telling the truth but you deflect from what I said and make sarcastic comments which makes it seem that you are not telling the truth about being discriminated against.
Dislike DEI all you want but DEI has been around for a lot longer than you realize, and a lot of people have benefited from DEI whether they know it or not.

So you have never personally been discriminated against, you are just going by what other people have told you.
You make sarcastic jokes about DEI, so you have probably never experienced discrimination of any kind during your life. It’s great that you can flaunt your privilege.

Yes to all 4! Publicly held companies and govt agencies were hiring less qualified and less capable people trying to hit a diversity goal, under pressure from DEI. You have no idea. Are you a blue haired cat lady? Or a white dude for Kamala? Do you believe in reparations? What are your pronouns?

DEI had gotten wildly out of control. It had become reverse discrimination. Identity politics over merit.

Why do y’all try to demonize DEI? Do you even know what it is? Yes, sometimes DEI is implemented in ways that are not beneficial, but if every DEI initiative was removed buildings would no longer be accessible to people in wheelchairs and tv programs would not have closed captioning; and those are just two examples.

Don’t disagree with that. It is that the odds of losing one’s job because they were hired as a diversity candidate are low. The ones that would lose their job are those positions that are there making sure that DEI positions are followed, basically there is an office or position of DEI. In the government and universities there are such positions. These positions were more than likely to go to a very diverse candidate, white woman? Not diverse enough, if also handicapped or incompetent maybe.
Worked 36 years in the federal government in an agency that was more male dominated. Had to hire a lot of people. It was a pain, but was understood. It wasn’t till they started to make positions just to make sure DEI was followed, basically hiring cops, did it really get out of hand.

Agreed, however, it's not that the budget needs to increase that much, it needs to be refocused, and that's been happening. Eg, less DEI, more tech warfare

They wouldn’t be likely to be hired to lead DEI, but elders in general, veterans, and ppl with disabilities (often invisible disabilities like PTSD) are part of DEI. So, gutting DEI does negatively impact an older veteran regardless of gender, color, or ability level.

**TDLR**: While the operational turnaround under the returning recently appointed CEO Todd Vasos is real, the market appears to be fundamentally mispricing the severity and permanence of the company's structural illnesses.
The legal and reputational risks associated with the OSHA and DEI scandals represent a significant, liability not represented in data. The path to sustainable profit growth is severely constrained by a rising, non-discretionary cost base and a corporate culture that will require years of sustained effort and investment to remedy.
The green shoots of recovery are definitely visible, but they are growing in poisoned soil. For now, Dollar General remains a high-risk buy, a stock best avoided until there is clear and sustained evidence of not just operational, but also cultural and ethical, reform.

Hi everyone, I've just finished up my latest article - this time covering Dollar General ($DG). If you want to read the entire thing see here: [Dollar General | A Turnaround Triumph or a Ticking Time Bomb?](https://dariusdark.substack.com/p/dollar-general-a-turnaround-triumph)

If old white guy combat veterans are discriminated against and struggle to find or be treated respectfully and equally at work... That's where DEI programs come in. That 'literally nobody ever' you throw out is because old white guys aren't often discriminated against but some veterans most certainly are. The people who aren't old white guys are okay with old white guys being included... Because diversity, equity, inclusion.

Yup the highfalutin fancy eggs that no one bought, they would send them to the food pantry and gave them away. The DEI jobs lost were those whose job was to ensure DEI jobs were done, basically a job that had no job but to determine folks followed DEI procedures, usually went to the most obvious minority, white female would have difficulty getting the position unless obviously handicapped or were incapable to do their normal job.

My wife would never work in a DEI position My kids will have their college paid for because I work my whole life My parents can pay for their prescriptions because they worked their whole life. Realistically this just sounds like an adult that doesn't want to take responsibility or put the effort into be successful in a capitalist society and they want the government to tell them what to do and take care of them. And if that's the case then that's fine but don't bring us down to your level why don't you get out. You can go do the socialist thing somewhere else. My family comes from the line of hardworking individuals that are all successful we don't need much from the government if anything. We work we pay our taxes and we're happy.

Historically white women have been the largest benefactors of DEI policies. Starting with the right to vote.
