Me 45m teacher with a pension (TRS 2) I’m contributing the max to my 457 deferred tax and 403b account currently have 35k in a mix of large/mid/small and international equities, 50/25/25. In addition 14k in Roth IRA risky growth ETFs thinking yield max funds to grow portfolio with drip and about 20k in brokerage with it split between Nvdia, Voo,qqq and qqqi with a couple randoms mixed in at about 10 percent dca of about 1k per month along with about 4K in crypto. My goal is to grow the 457and 403b and maximize growth in those account and use the dividends in my brokerage to start paying for expenses now. 1 how am I doing? And 2 what Stock/ETFs should I look at in order to pay for the new car and mortgage without loss of capital? I have the pension as baseline so I can afford to be risky in other aspects. Thanks for reading.

Looks good!
Hello from a fellow mid-40s Texas Educator! Not in TX anymore personally. I taught in TX for 19 years then moved to IL. Like you, my retirement will be composed of TRS (a chunk each from two different states in my case) and individual investments. Don't fret. You've got this!

I am a 44F who is just starting out late. I do have a TRS (Teacher retirement). Not sure I’ll stay in the schools but I am 10 yrs in. I am wanting to put myself in the best possible position given that I am late to the game. Any recommendations appreciated
