Damn, TLT going down

loss like 7 grand but i still sold at a loss on TLT after liberation day. i'm gonna be so mad if interest rates come down later this year. dumb fuck trump ruined it. if he didnt fuck it up, inflation would've come down, powell would've kept reducing and end of thisyear i'd be even. now with the credit downgrade, interest rates have to rise.

Does not work like that. You need to buy actual bonds to have the yield. TLT rolls over his bonds constantly and you will lose money as long yields keep going up

Idk about your bond dude? TLT is down 1.04% after hours, which is a pretty massive drop in a few hours. Not to mention VTI also dropped 1.04%. Whenever these two drop together, it’s bad.

Ummm last time there was a credit down grade TLT dropped 16% and SPY dropped 10% in the short term. Those happened during stabile times.
I think you are wrong. There are so few positives happening right now I can't imagine this being a nothing burger. Growth sold off AH is be surprised to wake up to it recovering.

With bonds, rates and price are inverse. Check out e.g. TLT - when its price drops, rates go up on the 10 year note, and vice versa.

- VTI (total stock market) down 0.68% after hours
- TLT (20y+ bond) down 0.69% after hours
- gold up 0.47% after hours

I sold TLT 86p that expired today. Fuck the guy that bought them 😈
