QQQI doesn’t have as much history as JEPQ. Are you worried the principal won’t do as well?

SCHD pays **4.03%**
Compare to the symbols below which pays **7.23%**
However I see that SCHD issues qualified dividend and the list below is only partial.

Dividend Income: VZ BKE CNQ EPD HESM MPLX AB AFG O VICI EOI EOS GPIQ QQQH QQQI SPYH SPYI UTG

Huh? Can QQQI go to zero? It would nearly be impossible for that to happen since the options are made on 75-90% of assets and not 100%.
Besides that, did you notice how it bounced back from the unleashing of the tariffs?

I don’t think I mention Schd. QQQI is the new love.

I would diversify a bit more into a few more asset class (BDC & prefer shares via ETF). Perhaps a backdown like this where I keep a bit more in SGOV as an emergency fund.
SGOV = 20%
SCHD = 10%
SCHG = 5%
PBDC = 10%
PFFA = 10%
SPYI = 30%
QQQI = 15%
Average yield is about 10.5% with an income of $26.6K/year. SPYI & QQQI is very tax efficient.

I'm currently building an income-focused portfolio with ETFs like **QQQI, JEPQ, SPYI, BTCI, and IGLD**. So far, I'm earning about **$267.31 annually**, which breaks down to around **$22.28 per month**, with a **14.63% yield**. My goal is to hit **$1,000 per year** in passive income.
I'm curious to hear from you all:
* What **income ETFs** are you investing in right now?
* What's your **strategy** for growing your income stream?
* Do you prioritize **monthly distributions**, **yield**, **growth potential**, or a mix?
Would love to hear what’s working (or not) for you. Any tips or insights are appreciated!

There isn't any universal best option. It all depends on what you're looking for.
Some general ideas:
* For a focus on price appreciation and dividend growth that pays qualified dividends, a fund like DGRO is a good choice
* For a standard dividend fund, SCHD generally gets broad approval
* For an aggressive fund that pays high distributions, QQQI or GPIQ are good options
* For a risky play that may yield significant returns, UNH has recently dropped significantly in price (lost 50% in 1 month) so could offer a great deal and a chance to get big returns if much of the recent price drop has been an overreaction

Wrong, you could have $750,000 in QQQI and that would give you around $8,700 a month/$104,000 annually. Most people can get by on that.

Keep it simple. Day trading rarely works for most. Consider just investing in QQQI, IWMI, DIVO and IDVO. That would yield close to 8%. Reinvest the dividends and always be buying.

Yes. We have retired early and are living off the dividends from our taxable account. They cover our basic expenses and are increasing faster than long-term inflation.
Because we are recently retired early, the portfolio is in the process of migrating from Dividend Growth to Dividend Income.
Growth: GOOGL AMZN AAPL NVDA V
Dividend Growth: HD LOW PEP PG CVX AMP BX FITB JPM PRU STT AMGN JNJ CAT CMI LMT UNP AVGO MSFT QCOM EGP ATO CPK ES EVRG NEE WEC
Dividend Income: VZ BKE CNQ EPD HESM MPLX AB AFG O VICI EOI EOS GPIQ QQQH QQQI SPYH SPYI UTG
This is our taxable account only. Retirement accounts can’t be touched for a few years still.

Keep in mind dividneds from JEPQ are taxed as regular income. If you plan to put the money in a retirment account that is fine. But it is a taxable account I would use QQQI. Very similar fund seeing the same index. QQQI yields 13% while JEPQ 10%. But the big difference is QQQI alas does tax loss harvesting to lowe rate tax on the dividneds you receive. I had JEPQ but replaced it with QQQI that reason.

Just look at the price history. It's constantly declining. So the yield is not sustainable.
Also, look at how it compares to other Nasdaq 100 covered call funds. It underperforms QQQI, JEPQ, and QDTE.
Plus, read articles about the fund. It's going to change strategy on the 27th to target a 30% yield (including a rename).
Don't just yield chase.

I would start with QQQI 13% yield at first and build that to 100K. At that point I will produce 11K of dividiends a year. And you could build it up higher if you want.
Then at some point divert the dividneds to SCHD VYM and DGRO but keep your dividend income constant. To keep the dividned constant you may have to periodically sell some of the QQQI Eventually you will have the funds you want and the income you want with little to no QQQI.
The advanatage of using a high yield fund first is tha it allows you to eventually stop adding money to the account. while it still grows. Now it doesn't have to be QQQI. It cold be any hight yield fund. I would build QQQI until you reach a yearly dividned income equal to your living expenses as quickly as possible. That way if youloos your job or can't work for any reason you will still have enough income to maintain you standard of living.
In 6 years you will reach 100K of income with an additional 13 of dividneds to build the account.. And if you continue the 1000K a month deposit you will hit 500K in about 15 years with an income of abou. t 60K A year with just QQQQI.
At any time you could diver the dividneds from QQQI to your preferred funds and build up a cash reserve in a money market account. I wish I had done this 20 years age. Right now I am retired Retired early at 55 and I have about 50K of income a yea from a mix of dividned funds.

I don't know these others yet but will explore. QQQI has done really well and I'm happy. I'm 60 and just working part time now so these are important tools.

You might want to check out NEOS cc funds. They are better than Jepi and Jepq as far as growth potential with a healthier more reliable dividend than JPM funds. Their SPYI and QQQI cc funds track SPX and QQQ respectively. Blending them into your mix might give more yield/growth and beta along with SCHD.
