Thanks for the comment. I’m thinking of which one to choose between AAPL, MSFT, and GOOG. I’m leaning MSFT even though I feel the other two are solid choices and will likely do better in the near future. Im more of a buy and hold investor, though, and trying to get away from the behavior of wanting to own a little of everything. The sectors I am most bullish on are tech and retail, so I’ll probably stick with those. COST and AMZN for retail. MSFT and NVDA for tech. BRK-B for stability. Though I will likely also keep Palantir and Boston Scientific for at least five years. I got a bunch of Palantir in the dip.

will probably buy 0 dte puts on Monday AM to hedge just in case. IF they make any money, then roll it into more NVDA calls . But im feeling like it will be a waste. Trump wants to go to China and the Moody thing is a politic job suck it

the low volatility is due to low volume. I saw the volume during friday and it was extremely low for whatever reason. so the stagnation and low volatility is due to the volume. which is why I decided to GTFO after 2 trades that netted me 12 cents, possibly my lowest gain ever. but in hindsight I'm now free to jump in at the bottom and ride this back up. I also noticed NVDA is actually now stronger than PLTR which it wasn't during the tariff crisis. so that was my second hint that something was wrong, plus I have seen this pattern before. I've been stuck at the top before like everybody else. each mistake I make I keep trying to figure out ways to fix it next time. I'll repeat mistakes but eventually I will fix them.

I think you are fine with that expiration. I expect NVDA melting up til earnings. I would be hesitant to hold it during the earnings call though, as I would with any other stock.

I am hovering around 50/50 on LEAPS and companies with shares in the multiples of 100. It all comes down to upfront cost. Let's take one of my recent LEAPS, NVDA. I did not really plan on buying another LEAPS but when the shares went under $100 in the beginning of April, I did not have $10k to drop. But I did have $4k and went in on a $95 strike. The breakeven is $135, so it is almost there with the share price at $132. When I bought in April, things were still going down. I did not know where the bottom was, but I do understand that NVDA is a solid company that is producing chips that are essential to AI which seems to have a lot of potential.
An example of buying the shares without options would be SPCE today. I was in at with 200 shares at about $9 per share, down about 40% since initial buy in. The company’s goal is to essentially build a “spaceline” business like the airlines, but for space, with multiple Delta class ships operating at multiple spaceports around the world. The buy in for 100 shares was $400. This brought my average cost down and gave me another potential to sell covered calls against.
Since I have a goal of exercising every LEAPS I enter into, I try to allocate funds to ensure I have enough to exercise as the expiration date nears.
If you are looking for a formula or consistent rule. I don't have one. It just about managing available funds and allocating accordingly.
