I had started investing in crypto, but I was smart enough to put a lot into BTC and ETH in 2020, which gave me crazy profits, just wish I had put more on those lol

The vast majority of people who try to play the market eventually lose. (Not everyone) but a lot. Although with the strong cryptos (like BTC, ETH, etc.) dollar cost averaging an holding for 3-5 years guarantees big profit. It’s very well known that the market goes in 4 year cycles the peak of which this time is this November. If one was to buy next summer after the downturn and held for 3.5 years, they’d be set. Virtually no risk and better than a savings account or S&P. I bought into BTC in 2016 @$500 a coin, 9 years later it’s $110,000 a coin… no risk. Playing the market and trying to time it and playing with risky coins (99% are scams and trash) is where the risk in crypto is.

BTCS (from what I understand) owns even more ETH than BTBT. I hate crypto, but if BTCS hasn't mooned in Mondays pre-market, im probably going to scoop some up.

Without going under, guess the lowest price of $ETH over the 24 hour range for Tuesday 8th. (According to coingecko)
EG. if someone guesses $1450.50, and the "bottom" is 1450.55, even though it's only off by 5 cents they "failed to buy the dip"
200 DONUT/CONTRIB to the winner!
Users may only guess once.

Ok thank you. I will probably just keep the eth I have on robinhood there, and purchase the other ETH somewhere else
so pretty much I need to set up a wallet that supports eth, then use uniswap to purchase ETH, then swap that for rETH, and send it to the wallet I created?

I second that. Thorswap is one of the best. I used it many times to swap across chains like ETH and BTC and so far it was all good.

You get a boosted reward running a node with, for example, rocketpool. I think the current eth only node gets a 5% commission. How rocket pool works is you deposit 8 ETH and rocketpool will loan you an additional 24 ETH. If you normally get a 3% apy, after one year you will get .24 ETH (8x.03) from your 8 ETH and .036 ETH (24x.03x.05) from the borrowed ETH.

The main benefit compared to delegating somehow is that you reduce counterparty risk. In exchange you have the cost of (numbers pulled out of arse) 4 hours per year admin time, and $300 per year hardware costs.
I think if you only have a single validator this is currently not a great deal, because your revenue is say 1 ETH or $2500 and the hardware and admin time take out a meaningful dent. Beyond 2 validators I would say you want to solo stake if you're comfortable with the tech, and beyond about 8 I would say get yourself comfortable with the tech and do it even if you weren't comfortable with it before.

### TL;DR (smooth-brain edition)
* **Ken “Kenny G” Griffin** just paid **$13.7 M** for a handwritten, Lincoln-signed copy of the **13th Amendment** *and* **$4.4 M** for a signed **Emancipation Proclamation**—total **$18.1 M** at Sotheby’s.
* He says he’ll *“loan them to the public.”* Retail asks: **can you loan back the $GME you’ve been borrowing?**
* This smashed the previous record of **$2.4 M** for any Lincoln document.
* **Flashback ’21:** Griffin outbid **ConstitutionDAO** at **$43.2 M** for a first-edition U.S. Constitution.
* The DAO had *~$47 M in ETH*, but public on-chain wallets + Sotheby’s fees capped their hammer bid around ~$41 M.
* Minutes later, Griffin joined a **Clubhouse room with Marc Andreessen** to take a victory lap.
* **Current $GME price:**
* **We are not financial advisors; we chew crayons and it was never about the carrot.** 🥕🚫
---
### Why apes care
| 🧩 | What it means |
|---|---|
| **Optics Gymnastics** | Buying abolition docs while Citadel racks up FTDs screams *“look at the shiny parchment, not at my short book.”* |
| **Collateral Shuffle** | Rare paper = non-correlated asset to pledge when repo desks start side-eyeing margin. |
| **Narrative Hijack** | MSM: *“Patriotic billionaire saves history.”* Apes: *“Same dude who killed the buy button.”* |
| **DAO Lesson** | Transparent treasuries + TradFi auction fees = easy hedge-fund snipe. |
---
### Quick hits & sauce
* **Record breaker:** $13.7 M is **>5×** the previous 13th Amendment record of $2.4 M (2016).
* Griffin says the docs will be displayed for America’s 250th in 2026.
* ConstitutionDAO’s 17,000 donors still ate **>$1.5 M** in gas fees on the way out.
---
### Ape thoughts (totally unhinged)
* Expect **“13th Amendment Capital”** branding soon—where they *abolish* shorts (except the synthetic kind).
* $18.1 M could have DRS’d **~720 K $GME shares** at today’s price—but parchment doesn’t trigger a gamma ramp.
* Remember **Jan 28 2021**: “protecting investors” meant *protecting* Citadel’s P&L.
---
💎🙌 **APE TOGETHER STRONG.** Hodl, DRS, munch crayons.
*Not financial advice.* See you on the launchpad, legends—because freedom isn’t free, but apparently it’s **$18.1 M + buyer’s premium** when Kenny’s buying. 🚀

I have IBIT in my ROTH because I figure if I am going to have some exposure to the potential absurd gains that could continue to happen, then I want to be TAX FREE long term. I do sell calls on the IBIT in my ROTH when I think time is correct, of course never all of it and it is spread across time to lower volatility of those call sells. That said I have bought 100+ additional shares of IBIT so far from selling calls in my ROTH which is pretty boss.
I did some crypto wallet stuff in the beginning, but the issue I kept dreading is what happens if I randomly die and my wife has to understand how to do all of this. I thought no biggie I will teach her. Then realized oh wait, what happens if we both die? Then I need to teach my oldest, and so on and so forth and it just became clear. As much as I am long BTC. I need IBIT instead. I could probably use a company to manage it all in a will type situation, but in the end I just decided TAX FREE in ROTH + no issues with my children getting our funds if something happens to us.
I really didn't care to much about ETH because the supply is theoretically unlimited, but since it has a burn mechanism it isn't stupid. Once stable coins and genius act started to become real this has changed my mind to start looking at it as another correlation diversification. Now that I see the IVR is so high, it just looks pretty juicy. Not sure which strategy I want to do yet though.

Anyone trade ETHA? I haven't done much with ETH. I am long BTC, but given all of this stablecoin running on ETH it made me look at ETHA and the vol is there and IVR is increasing on the 5day. Liquidity is good too. Just looking for correlation diversity.

2 hr ago • u/Dogedaddy4 • r/CryptoMarkets • altseason • C
Altseason isn't magic — it's a market function. When BTC halvings cut supply, new retail floods in chasing gains. Bitcoin pumps first. Then ETH. Then the rest.
Why? Because new money always starts with Bitcoin… but rarely ends there.
As BTC cools, eyes shift to cheaper, flashier alts. That’s when liquidity rotates and the fun begins. This pattern has repeated across every major crypto cycle.
Altseasons can come in waves — some massive, others short-lived. But they always happen. The real question is:
**Have we already had our first one… or is the real one still ahead?**

Hi all,
I am about to finish my master's degree in applied math from a target school in europe (think ETH/Imperial/Ecole). I did my undergraduate in engineering from one of the 3 targets mentioned here as well. I am planning to apply for some phds in the US in the field of Operations Research with a research focus in ML and stochastic processes.
I was hoping to gain some insight on how competitive the US market is at the moment, and if I have any chance of getting into a top buy-side firm. I don't have any previous internship in finance, but i have done some research projects in computational physics and machine learning. Do I have any chance in the top firms in America? And are there any OR/financial engineering PhD programs that are feeder for quant roles (like Princeton ORFE and Columbia IEOR).
Thank you.
