Ok I fixed it! :D the first merge extrinsic retrurned with an error. I tried it a second time and it went through. Then I could withdraw my DOT. Thanks again! :D

I would rather hold more ETH than put any asset into DOT, investing into ETH opens you up to a ton of yield opportunities, especially on chain like Haven1.

Genuinely surprised that someone is still buying DOT

Yeah, two days ago I cancelled my scheduled "polka dot buy every month" task, holding my current dot, but not buying any more.
As of me polka dot is not thriving because it is focused on enterprise real world problems and amazing tech... why is it bad? Because this is crypto, people don't really want extreme amazing tech, all they want is to have a possibility to make shit coins and pump them up, and use network to speculate.
Yeah there is a possibility that finally some big company will see us and use out tech, but still, money in crypto is where shit coins are. I know polka dot is above this type of crap, but I believe that this is also the reason why price stays there it is.
It is cool to read that price of cores from like 1DOT rised to milion DOT, and someone made 1000x selling core, but what does it really mean to me polka dot hodler while price still is going down and I am loosing money.

I arrived at your same conclusions around March. I sold my DOT bag and converted it to BTC. Haven’t looked up how it’s doing until just now. It’s up 30%.
To this sub: you have to know when to cut loose. Test your convictions every once in a while. Don’t get caught in the inertia of your biases. I wish you all well.

Cosmos has more real activity? lol. I might be one of few handful still using Cosmos occasionally. The ecosystem is real dead, worse than DOT.

DOT will have a hard time competing with ETH and Sui, because it has been inflected with Cosmos mind virus. It is not ok to your token as an inflationary cesspool to waste funds everywhere. It is Cosmos mind virus. DOT can’t shack it off either.

Yeah, it hurts. Polkadot is supposed to implement a transaction burn mechanism that will burn 80% of every transaction cost soon. But will it really turn things around? Who knows. I think we need a much higher burn rate to balance supply and demand. Maybe start by just burning 50% of the Treasury holdings every month until prices return to some "normal" level - say $5.
If you have any DOT left, make sure to vote against every proposal to spend any Treasury money. It doesn't matter if it's useful or not, at this point the Treasury spending more DOT just brings the price down.

Yep. I agree w/ you OP. I’ve held for 5 years. After looking at the crypto market as a whole, it seems like DOT is done tbh. There’s no narrative behind it at this point. There is no hype, and it seems like people have chosen other projects do push mainstream.

What are you talking about? it’s just been downhill since. It’s honestly not looking good. The hype is dead, the ecosystem isn’t growing fast enough, and other chains are just straightup doing better.
Cosmos has more real activity. Ethereum is still dominating everything. Even newer chains like Sui and Aptos are getting more dev love and user traction. Meanwhile, DOT feels stuck and barely any movement, and the parachain auctions don’t even make noise anymore.
If you zoom out, it’s clear, Polkadot’s narrative isn’t keeping up. It had a shot at being the ‘internet of blockchains,’ but now it’s getting left behind by projects that are faster, leaner, and actually being used. Don’t be surprised if DOT keeps bleeding or fades out completely. I wish it wasn’t true, but sometimes you gotta be real about a sinking ship fam…

BYDFi supporting DOT with advanced margin tools is great news. You can manage leverage settings manually or preset it.

DOT is sitting right at its range low. Great time to scoop some up as a short term trade.

This is not my first cycle. I've seen LINK go from $2 to $71 (Canadian currency). I've seen DOT go from $4 to $74. I've seen ATOM go from $5 to $60. LTC go from $60 to $560. HBAR go from $0.02 to $0.77. If you think XRP can't go to $10, you've never been around for an alt season.

The BTC and ETH were luckily mined for free so no pressure there. Have 15% interest on my DOT staking, takes a month to unstake but considering it at the moment for sure!
