Actually, I used around a $35 fee because the mempool was huge that day. Probably the biggest it has ever been. It still didn't confirm for almost a full day. So I used a child pays parent tx to force it to confirm. The trouble is that is another transaction, so you pay for both new and old, while increasing the fee at the same time.
I am no newbie. I have coded several wallets and even created my own crypto coin around 2015.
I kept a couple BTC just in case, but converted the rest. I understand that it is in banks and governments interest to make BTC number one since it is broken. But some day, I expect cryptocurrencies that actually work to take the market lead.

Well, if BTC doesn't go to $1M in the next 5-7 years, it would be really underwhelming.

Consider BitKey for a good starter wallet or Coldcard if you’re more technical and want to air gap things.
I recommend doing decent sized transfers of at least ~1mil sats (0.01 BTC) to reduce transaction fees in the future.
Most BTC-only exchanges have clever ways to reduce or eliminate transfer-out fees. Love the slow, but free option that Strike has.

I got the Bitbox02 and never felt better with my BTC. Direct buy via Pocket every week.

Watching Sezzle movement, its clear now the price is tied to BTC, and interest rates versus performance

I haven’t read the new standards regarding tax regs for anything aside from just buying and selling, perpetuals notwithstanding, but in the past it’s always been the case that you don’t pay taxes unless you sell. Just like stocks. I’ve been trading since 2013 and have a strong portfolio, and have never been notified by any exchange that I have to pay any taxes on the front end or until I sell. This must be specific to airdrops is my assumption. The last airdrop I received was the $PYTH airdrop and I sold shortly after I received it in four decentralized wallets on a DEX - not a CEX - for around $18K but this was before any of these were being tracked and there was really no regulation in place. That being said, you should confirm that the notifications that you’re receiving are legit and not a scam because it still doesn’t make sense. If this were the regulation, what would happen if the price moved the other way and you went from $20K to $80K? You only pay taxes unless on $20K? And potentially again when you sell? Reach out to CB possibly and confirm through them. And, if you’re receiving $80K airdrops, you should just spend a little money and find an educated accountant to help you navigate the new tax laws and find out if you qualify for “trader tax status” as an individual trader, which is a possibility if you trade frequently and profit enough to meet the benchmark requirements to qualify. I can’t remember what they’re calling the new bill and the name they’re using to refer to crypto (it’s not a registered security as the lion’s share of coins and tokens, like BTC and ETH don’t pass the Howey Test and are generally considered commodities, though there are some that do and are registered - such as XRP and tokens issued via an ICO or IDO - when purchased by registered traders, but from what I’ve seen those are typically inaccessible to the general public. But if you’re pulling $80K airdrops, then I’m guessing you either hit a one-off in the right place at the right time, or you’re trading some size. Either way, get an accountant if that’s the direction you’re going in because the laws can also vary by state in some regards. Congrats on the airdrop, also. That’s a fat bag. 🤙

The “5% rule” is completely arbitrary, it isn’t based on data, logic, or any meaningful analysis. People repeat it because it sounds safe, not because it reflects how Bitcoin behaves.
Also, don’t confuse volatility with risk. High volatility doesn’t automatically mean high long-term risk, especially for an asset with a fixed supply, global liquidity, and no dilution. Risk is about permanent loss, not short-term price swings.
If someone wants to keep BTC at 5%, that’s fine. But pretending there’s some universal rule behind that number is misleading.

>I would like to hear your ideas and advice. I think it will happen sooner or later everywhere
If I recall correctly, this (or something very similar) is the case in the UK too. The best solution is imho going P2P only.
>Some people are talking about buying BTC in P2P. But that means paying at least a 10-15%
This is written by someone who never used a P2P. I'm always buying under 5%, in many cases under 2%. If I can't find a good rate, I create my own with 0% and it gets snatched within an our or two.
For anyone thinking to give P2P a try (you definitively should), have a look at BISQ, Robosats, HodlHodl, PeachBitcoin and Vexl.

-$23M BTC loss, so any operating earnings are negated. It won’t be a magical earnings release.

Yes MSTR. Look at the mNAV. It's like buying BTC at a discount. But it's not going to be a smooth ride up. So only buy it if you are comfortable seeing huge volatility.

BTC will appreciate at a minimum of 20% forever. If you don't believe that, you're wasting your time trying to dissect this company. They will become one of the most valuable companies in the world, and I'm sitting here on over 500 shares at an avg of $250. This is probably the most difficult company to understand in the entire market. But when you do understand, you'll realize they are completely unstoppable.

Knows if Tom Lee is becoming a joke, or knows which way BTC is going to go. I agree with the latter, which is why I think people are starting to believe the former.

Nah, not only are BTC's returns better than the stock market, but it's also better on a risk-adjusted basis. Historically, BTC has a higher sharpe ratio and an even higher Sortino ratio (my favorite, as it does not penalize for upwards volatility).

Possibly money laundering.
Supposed OP has dirty BTC that's been traced to illegal activity. We help him and PayPal him money. We're stuck with illegally-acquired BTC we can't get rid of.

If I wanted to pay cash, I would have done it long ago. I politely asked very specific questions of how to acquire BTC with gift cards. I don’t see the point of you questioning me why. I have my reasons.
