Yes, OP, make sure you're getting pristine BTC and not some fake nonsense.

Hi there, u/Initial-Kick255! When you send BTC to the Base network, it gets converted into cbBTC, which is a tokenized version of BTC. It’s pegged 1:1 with your actual BTC, but the BTC itself stays in Coinbase custody. This setup lets you use BTC within the Base ecosystem, like interacting with decentralized apps.
Using a self-custody wallet like Coinbase Wallet gives you control over cbBTC tokens, so you can manage them directly. If you want to send cbBTC to another wallet, you can do that without needing to convert it back to BTC first—unless the wallet doesn’t support cbBTC.
When you send USDC from Coinbase to Base, it’s converted into USDbC, which is a bridged version of USDC on the Base network. It works the same way as USDC and keeps the same value.
There might be network fees involved when sending USDC to Base, depending on the blockchain’s activity at the time.
Our Coinbase Help Center article on USDbC explains its functionality, including how it is a bridged version of USDC on the Base network and how it interacts with native USDC. You can find more details [here](http://help.coinbase.com/en/coinbase/getting-started/crypto-education/usd-base-coin) .
The Base website provides detailed information about the Base network, including bridging and other functionalities. You can explore it [here](https://www.base.org/) .
Let us know if you have any other questions—We're happy to help!

“Luxury, stupid and expensive” stuff is for people who don’t have a real limit on money. Lambo is nothing when you got 100M$ on your bank account. Actually it is almost “free”, why buying normal stuff when it doesn’t really make a difference? 30k$ car or 300k$? A rounding error…
If you got a lot of BTC then go for it, why not? but don’t overdo it.
What I would do? I would probably sell a little and bought some things that would improve my life but I would try to keep most of BTC intact. The most interesting idea for me is to have options anyway… and a peace of mind as well. I really like the idea btc = fat.
The older I am, the more I think that the most important things are those that you do daily. One of them - do you live below your means or above them?
I think you are on a good track. Anyway if AI will bring gigantic prosperity then even small fraction of BTC could be almost impossible to spend, unless buying other scarcities.
Thinking about it I would rather rent a race car and have some short time fun with it, than buy it and deal with everything around it… I am not a car guy, I don’t want another work. Let someone else deal with things I don’t like.

You are not looking to process 99% of the population. Nothing of this is micro. The ones using BTC in the future (if anyone uses it) are Blackrock, the FED and friends then the blocks are full.

I ordered firewood for my cabin in the woods, dude came and asked to pay via Zella, I sent the payment but it did not go through and after a few days transaction was canceled. By that time he was in Montana in the woods and needed his payment. None of the payment methods he wanted to use I could offer. I mentioned crypto and he said YES but BTC only. He sent me his receiving address, I opened an account on the Exchange, bought BTC and sent the payment to him that way. Had to do some research and learned how to trace the whole transaction, but he got the SATs and all happy.

tldr; Since July 2024, Bitcoin (BTC) has traded without signs of capitulation, showing resilience and reduced volatility. Strategic trading and long-term confidence have limited panic-selling, even during market fluctuations. BTC's realized market cap has remained above its market price, indicating strong conviction. Predictions suggest BTC could surpass $250K in 2026 if current trends persist. Miners have also shown resilience despite challenges, holding through periods of difficulty. Retail selling has decreased, while whales continue accumulating BTC.

>GME is sitting on $1B+ cash
Well that’s the problem isn’t it, they’re just sitting on it. The fuck would a CNBC panel talk about, exactly?
“Yeah so here’s a company who issued a bunch of stock like 18 months ago. Then they bought some BTC.”
“…ok?  Anything else?”
“Yes after like a year, they made a digital TCG slot machine that didn’t make any impactful amount of money”
“Cool… what are they doing with all the money though”
“Nobody knows, they haven’t issued any forward guidance in line a decade”

Different spreads have different risk/reward profiles.
For example: At the .30 delta for SPX 21DTE current: STO 6570 BTO 6535 gives a .22 risk/return ratio at the ask. Max gain $620, Max loss $2872.
For a one strike spread: 6570/6565 risk/return is 0.09. $40/$459. To make the same $620 as the above, I'd need 15.5 contracts, but instead of my max loss being $2872, it would be $7114.5. This is a much worse deal.
Different strikes have different spreads which have the best ratio. Sometimes they are closer, sometimes they are farther apart.
I'm new to this, so take what I say with a giant grain of salt. There might be some scenario where that initial ratio isn't optimal, such as the long leg gains or loses value quicker or slower than the long leg, I haven't gotten that deep into it. But for an apples-to-apples if you hold your contracts to expiry, the ratio is a good indicator (people recommend never holding all the way to the end, always BTC/STC before EOD on expiration).
Of course, this is for OTM spreads. ITM spreads have the additional risk of early assignment which may exceed the cash/buying power you have on hand. That's one of many reasons people like to trade options on SPX as there's no risk of early assignment and they're always cash settled.
So, what I do is find the strike and the date I like, and I find the best ratio for that strike. If the ratio is not good enough for me at the strike price I like, I don't make the trade. Different underlyings will have different risk/return, obviously.

Yep, good where it’s at 👍 we are not looking to process steam’s micro transactions. (Referring to 2017-18 spike)
BCH is hungry for volume go there for micro shit.
If you send me payment in BCH I accept it, to dump immediately. Hold BTC and don’t complain.

I have Posn Effect on one account but not the other (originally TDA fwiw). You can use the order confirmation window to see what TOS plans to open/close. I usually go with AUTO and then check the confirmation, which works out since I sometimes confuse which account I am in.
Usually I run into this issue when moving a vertical using a butterfly order, which is 1/2/1. Work though the BTC/STO logic for all legs.
I found that the 4-leg order was trying to STC/BTO the same strike, or something to that effect. I had to close the vertical and open the new one separately.

I do think going 100% into tech will beat the market over a long period if you can stick with it through extended bear markets. However, I would recommend tech ETFs like FTEC, SMH, IGV, QTUM, maybe even CQQQ, for 50% of your portfolio. With the other 50% try a momentum strategy with single stocks, because the top growers will change year after year, decade after decade. You might also consider BTC and ETH which have an even larger potential for growth if crypto stabilizes as a true asset class. But only do any of these things if you’re trying to get rich at the risk of underperformance, which could be significant. If you stick to your current portfolio long term it is guaranteed to underperform because companies come and go, trends change, winners become losers. But the people who make the highest return are those that go all in on a single factor that happens to be the right factor, but also have the lowest return if they bet on the wrong factor.

Not right now - we’re going into the 4th year of the cycle and there’s peak euphoria and froth in the market… with 120K you could position yourself nicely upon the correction (yes, we’ll have one) next year in ‘26 or even early ‘27.
Take it from someone that bought in at the peak in ‘21 when BTC was at 60K and all the schills were saying; “There’s so much money coming to BTC in Q1 of ‘22-“, or “BTC may never go down!”…
Wait and buy in when it corrects by 50%… or more.
No FA - happy hunting
