I do agree with this. The problem as I see it (and I could be wrong) is BCH has solved a lot of the tech. However, usage is basically nonexistent. BTC can make similar or even the same changes as BCH and BCH is no longer of any value. What makes BTC valuable is conviction.
I think block size will have to increase in time. Either Core adopts or it will die.

As someone who has had serious gains: Don’t. You might make 1-5% more money, maybe more if you’re lucky. Or you actually loose money. In the end, in 90% of cases you make more just hodling BTC, but without the stress.

I remember 8 years ago when BTC was trading > $2500, and seeing "wild speculations" about where the price was headed.
If the dollar keeps collapsing, so will the paper markets. It's not a secret these metals have been purposefully manipulated for decades, so it shouldn't be a surprise when they 10x the market cap while the reserve dollar is inflated into oblivion.
This shitpost seems more plausible than watching USgov failing miserably trying to claw their way out of a black hole.

Selling BTC to buy something is like selling your house to buy something. Not smart. Instead find another method to pay for the things you want, and keep the thing that's actually protecting your future and providing you security...
Anyone who says "sell BTC to buy things" sounds like an institution propaganda... It's just not smart. It's the mindset that keeps people poor compared to those companies that are buying to never sell.

If BTC hits $100k it will hit $200k
If BTC hits $1M it will hit $2M

If you take collaterized loans against your BTC then creditors WILL take your BTC if you don’t pay back your loans.
Otherwise why would they lend you the money in the first place?

> The idea of EVERYTHING being on L1 is insane
Note: This was never a requirement for Bitcoin Cash. It was only: Don't cripple L1 in order to force L2's. Because this hurts adoption and drives people to use other blockchains (which is what happened).
Development of L2's is OK (sidechains, drivechains, rollups, whatever). BCH even had a sidechain experiment (SmartBCH) which failed due to the bridge not being fully decentralized at the time. Lightning Network whitepaper even recommended big blocks (133MB) for global adoption, yet L1 scaling was neglected by BTC Core.

>The idea of EVERYTHING being on L1 is insane
- It's not. Have you run the numbers?
- even if, it's not the reason why BTC did not scale even a single byte the last 15 years. But crippling it is.
- If you don't scale L1 you make it a tool for the rich, the fee market, that is an auction in reality, makes sure of that.
>Additional layers of varying centralization will be added. Centralization is a bit of a feature here. Its an optimization
Just listen to these bankster puppets.

People predicted Bitcoin was going to tank in September all August. It’s all we heard from this sub. If we ended September now, it would be the best September for BTC ever.
The fact people are bearish here is a bullish signal.

BTC because it will be the new ‘gold’ — digital. ETH because it will be the backbone of the new monetary system we’ll be forced to use by 2030. Solana for speed and scalability in consumer apps. LINK because every smart contract ecosystem needs reliable data oracles. From there you can spread a little into strong infrastructure plays (like AVAX or MATIC) and maybe a small % into memes for pure speculation. That way you’re diversified across the core assets that institutions and builders are actually betting on, not just gambling on hype.

how much time do I have to pump my bags?
Not much, if cycles are any indication 1-3 months from now. If you believe cycles are over for good, then technically BTC could run until the next black swan event, or if you are dopeboyrico some magical supply shock event eventually happens (still waiting for this)
But we've seen how much good news catalysts we've had in bitcoin this year alone, and this slugger won't move
Is Bitcoin going to be a 'safe' asset that people run to, or something to sell to buy something else?
While BTC was designed to be a safe haven asset, sadly it trades like a risk-on high beta tech stock like mag 7 with much higher risk. Every market correction or black swan, we always correlate strongly to the downside sadly, thus far.
You can't pay your rent/mortgage or your grocery bills without selling bitcoin, during recession I fear people can do some really irrational things which include selling off all their non-essential assets like bitcoin to make ends meet.

>Where I live, hardware wallets are pretty expensive. The cheapest one I found costs basically all the BTC I currently own
Under 1k usd of btc you can just use a wallet like blue or green in ios or android phone we discuss in the pinned FAQ . Over 1k usd fo btc seriously consider getting a hardware wallet. Over 10k usd of btc definitely get a hardware wallet
You also understand you can get a trezor one for 24.50 usd

Even BTC its lacking not just alts, considering the devaluation of the dollar and the inflation it should be at 130k minimum right now imo.
Right now we are at the same levels or lower than january.
