Yeah I can understand why someone would prefer cash: no hassle and no taxes. Like why would they be interested in replacing their cash payment for a job they did with BTC if they're already not replacing any of their everyday cash with BTC?

Exactly. The landscaper is actually the smart one here as the person offering is implying that BTC is worth $.2 USD

Diversify into memes and Kaspa. I was duped out of my 1.07 BTC holding the day Trump announced a pause on tariffs. I was out at the time day trading. Memes have basically made all my missed out profits back from selling at 86K. Solana memes that are listed on Coinbase are the ones to do it.

When Bitcoin was around $8,000 in 2020 I offered my drywaller payment in Bitcoin, which was around 1 BTC at the time.
He declined.

But people do buy real estate as investment property and it’s a terrible idea. Any gains in price value has most likely already been spent on taxes, interest, fees, and general home upkeep over the years. You basically get almost nothing in return when it comes time to sell.
I’d rather hold BTC and stocks any day, over buying homes. The only home I will own is the one I live in.

I always understood it like this:
Let's say you have a million dollars. If there is 2% inflation you are FORCED to put the money to work, otherwise you lose it. You have to either put it into a bank, so it can be used as credit for people starting businesses, or you have to invest into a business yourself. Either way, you are creating jobs, and products, opportunities for others to also make a living.
But if everyone just puts their money into, for example, Bitcoin and it keeps growing in value each year, then anyone who reaches 100k will never sell because there is no incentive to.
So the question will be this: will BTC price stagnate one day? Will it reach for example a million dollars and then stay there? Because if not, if population keeps growing and Bitcoin keeps having more and more customers, the price keeps rising, and everyone sells their companies and fires all their employees and just buys Bitcoin instead.
And then there would be no opportunities for young people. That's why people say 2% is healthy, to force billionaires to create jobs, or lose 2% per year.

You didn't nearly get burned. You might've nearly lost the shares you wanted to keep for whatever reason, but if you sold CCs above your cost basis you were making Max Profit on the trades as they were set up. The 'loss' you feel like you have if you need/want to BTC the short Calls is in your shares. More than that, actually, since the shares went up at 100 deltas, while the short Calls went up only at 50 or 60 or maybe 70 deltas.
It's just a matter of perspective.

I second that. Thorswap is one of the best. I used it many times to swap across chains like ETH and BTC and so far it was all good.

I have IBIT in my ROTH because I figure if I am going to have some exposure to the potential absurd gains that could continue to happen, then I want to be TAX FREE long term. I do sell calls on the IBIT in my ROTH when I think time is correct, of course never all of it and it is spread across time to lower volatility of those call sells. That said I have bought 100+ additional shares of IBIT so far from selling calls in my ROTH which is pretty boss.
I did some crypto wallet stuff in the beginning, but the issue I kept dreading is what happens if I randomly die and my wife has to understand how to do all of this. I thought no biggie I will teach her. Then realized oh wait, what happens if we both die? Then I need to teach my oldest, and so on and so forth and it just became clear. As much as I am long BTC. I need IBIT instead. I could probably use a company to manage it all in a will type situation, but in the end I just decided TAX FREE in ROTH + no issues with my children getting our funds if something happens to us.
I really didn't care to much about ETH because the supply is theoretically unlimited, but since it has a burn mechanism it isn't stupid. Once stable coins and genius act started to become real this has changed my mind to start looking at it as another correlation diversification. Now that I see the IVR is so high, it just looks pretty juicy. Not sure which strategy I want to do yet though.
