People are afraid of their fiat money getting printed into oblivion.
People also see the charts going up and want more.
Add those two up to explain why BTC goes up

[plan is to hold for 25 years at @1000\/month of contribution, but i'm genuinely fighting my demons trying not to buy a clapped out BMW e92 or a 540i e39. Short term portfolio holdings is 50% XEQT \(I have more XEQT on a different platform\), 25% Gold to ride out the recession, and 25% BTC. You might be able to mortgage your BTC instead of your house. Need a loan for a new roof? Put the BTC up for measured collateral. Bank doesn’t want your 1957 Craftsmen House, but they will take your BTC.

So a few years back, I won $10 in BTC on Twitter (shoutout Cash App 🙌). I let it sit, watched the numbers go up, and eventually cashed most of it out. Took about $50 and tossed it into some stocks of companies I actually like.
Not trying to get rich, not planning to throw in extra cash — just seeing what happens. Basically, letting my iPhone notifications do all the heavy lifting for me.

Bitcoin is matured enough to be a DCA asset. It’s cornerstone of a portfolio. I started investing in Bitcoin 8 years ago (Was getting payments via BTC 2 more years prior) and i feel stupid to try timing cycles, doing sell-buy back games. Now i’m a true HODLer till i’m FIRE. No more sell and buy backs.

If you are referring to BTC and not actual bitcoin then segwit was a hack that crippled it.

I’ve seen the mentions of RISC-V and even mentioned that it might be the cause of the first significant split of the ETH community over the quantum narrative, with Saylor possibly following with an equvalefor the BTC community.
In either case, it will ultimately drive value out of those projects.

The real bitcoin is what the majority decide it is. Every bitcoin fork says they are “the real bitcoin”. I just got banned from r/bitcoincash because I said BTC is bitcoin, not BCH lol. Most people in here try to push the same narrative.
Anyways, back to the topic: A bug was exploited and the consequences were nullified. Typically a hack would also mean that there were loss of funds. Here there were no consequences after the mitigation.
OK, if you guys want to linger on semantics. let me concede that it is was hacked in this occasion. We can then conclude that the system is impervious to hacks since they can be mitigated through consensus.

Well, the migration is a pretty big deal.
With current block sizes and amount of existing addresses holding any BTC, if everyone wanted to send their funds to a new QR address, it would fill all blocks and basically halt the whole network for **76 days**!! That is counting only the migration TXs. No other TX would go through. And that's best-case imaginary scenario. Realistically it would take years, and in case some panic happens, it would require massive fees to be able to fit your TX into the block...
... and also, as your TX is sitting in mempool, your public key is fully exposed, making you vulnerable to quantum attack. And this can get ugly really fast.

No yield farming. That would make me a trader. Ergo capital gains taxes. I prefer my gains from BTC, ETH, LINK, ONDO, SPX, etc. to be tax free.
And I really recommend to take an open minded deep dive into SPX. It took me a moment to figure it out. But what I found has nothing to do with a mere memecoin.

Blue wallet is self custodial wallet. it is a hot wallet (meaning its connected to the internet). You hold the keys yourself.
Sats are the smallest divisible unit of Bitcoin.
Just like $1 = 100 cents
similarly, 1 BTC = 100 Million sats.
So if you buy 0.01 Bitcoin, you effectively have 1 million sats.
