Every exchange wants money + tokens for a listing. These range from $10,000 (small exchanges like p2pb2b) to over a million (BNB, Coinbase etc). They only make exceptions and/or reductions for AAA VC invested coins like Sei, Monad etc.

Imagine you are a sovereign fund or an institution with deep pockets.

\- You cannot invest in privacy coins (ZEC, XMR) because the law doesn't allow it
\- You cannot invest in centralized coins (XRP, BNB, etc) because it has centralization risk
\- You cannot invest in DeFi lending protocol tokens because of protocol risks
\- You cannot invest in random memecoins because it's outright reckless

You are left with BTC, and perhaps ETH/SOL, but institutional financial optics don't allow you to invest in ETH/SOL without investing in BTC first.

I initially picked CRO instead of BNB because it was lower market cap and better name (crypto vs binance) when I was searching for cashback cards. Eventhough I have made gains, I feel disgusted by the handling of CRO. I was right in the fact that the company (cdc) has gained a lot of customer, but the success hasnt been projected into CRO. It's more like they are abusing the token in every possible way instead making the holders benefit from it.

BNB is like Binance’s stock. As long as Binance is doing well , BNB will be going up.

I'd heavily recommend you to not hold (especially smaller) altcoins a whole cycle long. Remember that almost every currently relevant altcoin pretty much dies during a bear market. You can compare it yourself if you want. Make a list of the hottest coins in 2021 you can remember and see how they're doing now. Let me name a few: POL (MATIC), ATOM, DOT, VET, SHIB, MANA, LUNA (lol), UNI, IOTA, ALGO, AXS etc etc. The list is truly endless.
What im trying to say is that you have very good odds of being stuck in an unnecessarily bad situation - you drop 95%, range around down there for years and practically die off. Besides, if you couldn't get yourself to sell at least a portion of your position at new all time highs, you're likely never going to sell. The kind of returns you're expecting mostly happen in the deep end of the bear market - this is where you buy for those gains, not during a correction 2 years into the bull market. So unless you bought them much earlier, or you really really know what you're doing (sorry if you do :D), you're being way too greedy here and i hope you can start to understand this. I'm glad that you're diversified in other assets at least but your handling of crypto (from what ive heard so far), is incredibly unrealistic
Your altcoin very likely won't return to new all time highs "if you just hold until the next cycle", odds are (again) extremely high that its never gonna get even close ever again. There are exceptions, like there always are, but have fun catching those in the endless sea of bullshit. So far you only had XRP, SOL, BNB and ZEC recently so uhhhh not really a whole lot to say the least. Altcoins are not made for the long-term for those reasons, they just aren't. You have to time them really well and also be ready to sell them during the same cycle. But holding them through a whole bear market is not going to end well. Consider cutting your losses on the smaller cap altcoins, since that market is very short-lived. New ones will appear and make those 500%, 1000% gains you mentioned but the older ones who already existed a whole cycle long very very likely aren't gonna be relevant in the next one. Again check out the examples from 2021 i mentioned. Hope that makes sense :)

Yeah i sold BNB into CRO because it had more room for growth. Still holding CRO and pretty sad at the moment but zoom out for any successful coin. CRO feels like a longer term bet. I think stake or supercharge and forget about it for now.

Honestly? Probably because even if you zoom out CRO has performed woefully bad compared to BTC, ETH, BNB and many more. You call this a correction but it's back to practically the same price it was at in February/March this year when BTC was at 80k USD, significantly lower than now.
Compare CRO to BNB over the past 5 years and you'll see that zooming out makes CRO look awful. Whilst other coins have massively increased their market cap and price CRO has flat lined. The moves made by Chris and Crypto.com are seen as having a deflationary effect, which for holders of CRO is a bit of a betrayal and generally bad news, and no signs of that changing....
