Look—TARIFFS are GREAT. People don’t get it, but I do. I’ve always gotten it. Other countries have been SCREWING us for YEARS—decades, really—and nobody did a thing. Obama? Sleepy. Bush? Very confused. But ME? I said, “NO MORE.” So I put BIG TARIFFS on China, on Europe, on whoever was taking advantage. And guess what? They didn’t like it! Too bad!!! We finally said—we’re NOT gonna be the world's PIGGY BANK anymore!!! America is OPEN for BUSINESS—not for getting ROBBED.
Now some people—very DUMB people, honestly—they say, “But Mr. President, what if stuff costs more?” OK?? So what!! Pay a little more, save the COUNTRY. I call that a DEAL. And let me tell you something: the money from tariffs? It’s MASSIVE. It just comes pouring in. Billions. With a “B.” They thought we wouldn’t make money—WRONG!! We made SO much money, it was almost like cheating. But LEGAL. The best kind of cheating!!! And it scared the other countries, folks. They called me—on the phone—they were BEGGING. “Please, Mr. President, take off the tariffs.” I said, “ONLY if we get a BETTER deal.” And we DID. Because I know deals. They don’t!!! Nobody’s ever seen anything like it.

That’s what I’m trying to tell people, this man is about to make the market go up in a straight line. There are negatives to the BBB in regards to social services but option traders are about to make BANK

COCHIN SHIPYARD - Exit, At breakeven as the valuation is high and the Profitability isn't that much which would support the valuations.
HDFC BANK - Exit, Bought at almost peak levels.

SEBI report notwithstanding , let's calculate this logically to determine how easy or difficult it is to manipulate BANK NIFTY
HDFC , yesterday had volume MA around 45k on a minute chart. So that's Rs 9-10 crores if someone aggressively buys all of these. Now I dont have the order book data on hand, but I doubt this will tilt the price up more than 1.5 Rs. Lets say Rs 1.50
So for HDFC to make an impact on Bank Nifty, of say about 0.5% , HDFC needs to go up by 2% (ish..HDFC has about 25% weightage) 2% HDFC is Rs 40.
So (40 / 1.5) x 10 = 266 cr buy in HDFC for 5-10 mins to move Bank Nifty up by 0.5% (This is a very rudimentary calculation - prone to errors, but ok for a hypothetical discussion)
Or you spread this 266 cr across all Bank Nifty stocks in a calculated manner (but i will focus just on HDFC to keep it simple)
But there are other market participants as well, right? HDFC daily volume average is about 9 million. 90,00,000 * 2000 = 1800 crores. So maybe if you invest 266 twice or thrice, like around 800 crores, that is enough to overwhelm the sellers. I mean without you there already are sellers for 1800 cr and buyers for 1800 cr, now with you there are buyers for 2600 cr and sellers for 1800 cr (new sellers will pop up undoubtedly - its a zero sum game as far as volume is concerned)
And seeing aggresive buying some algos, some traders will pick up the signals and join the buying frenzy further adding to the bulls.
OTOH, the total volume in Bank Nifty stocks is 100,000 crores. In front of that my 766 crores looks like chump change. Will the remaining 99k crores just watch me in awe as I pluck the banana from their hand? Larger firms with better faster algos may detect my buying before it happens and can front-run, short sell or fade my move. 766 crores of equity buying means i must have a larger exposure in the options market. if the move goes against me - I stand to lose a lot more in options. I can bear a 1-2% loss in equity if price falls, but if I have options positions commensurate to the size of my equity holdings a 1-2% move can very well kill me.
My assessment - SEBI cherry picked a highlight day when the perfect storm brewed favouring Jane Street's actions. Such blatant manipulation with such returns could be possible only on very rare occasions and are more depended on luck than pure manipulation tactics. Sure they made some money illegally but anyone with a spare 1000-2000 crore lying around must not attempt to replicate what they did if they wish to preserve their capital.
