The transaction fees you pay to hedge in and out will kill any profits. Active rebalancing of a perps position is expensive.
The LP pools will, on average, pay the same interest rate that you would get from just holding the short perp.
A put option more closely matches the hedge you need when staking an AMM pool, but options have even higher spreads and transaction friction.
Not viable imo.
