This reads to me like he’s scared to death that this disruption and chaos will split the GOP vote and cost him his vision of MAGA rule for the next 100 years. I think I’m coming around on this

The way I see it is Elon will have the most polarizing villain to hero story if he successfully creates a party thats for the people (highly unbelievable) while also cutting into the 2 party system that seems to profit off eachothers mistakes.
It's going to be quite the thing to watch cause he does indeed have the capital to disrupt the system. The GOP just pissed off the most financially well off toddler who, when he wants something, finds a way to pay for it to happen.

🍈 knows that he will literally outlast 🥭 and the GOP does too but if they abandon 🥭 they lose 30% of their base.
If they stick with 🥭 Elon will steal like 5% of their base and they’ll lose anyway.
It’s a hostage situation like 4 different ways.

The people that support the GOP are too stupid to see the inconsistency and evidently think lies are A-OK.

Why the downvotes? Isn’t this how MAGA took over the GOP?
Not sure how Musk can do it without fox news et al., though.

I'm a pro-gun socialist, but there's no way that issue is going to get me to vote Republican.
I think as more minorities become armed, you'll begin to see Republican stance on guns start to swing back toward restriction, like they were during the 60's and 70's (most notably, read up on Reagan's time as governor of California).
On a historic scale, it's pretty absurd that gun restrictions are currently associated with the "left", and this is one of those areas that is ripe for shuffling, not unlike the shift of racial politics that happened in the mid 20th century. At the minimum, I would expect both parties to align on restriction, the way they seem to have on immigration and deportation.
One possible inciting event would be if anybody defends themselves against ICE (or those masked, badgeless agents acting as ICE) using a gun. That'll get the GOP to support weapon restrictions real fast.

Going too go about as well as DOGE. 3% support across the country = zero seats. If this party leans conservative, then the Dems will benefit. If it leans liberal the GOP will benefit. This sounds like his Hyperloop, whose sole goal was to try to kill high speed rail.

Imagine for a minute that Biden was doing this shit? The entire GOP party would be screaming on Fox News that the president has gone insane and must be removed from office. The maga base would be storming the capital to remove the "mad king" Biden.
But when it's their sack of shit guy in office, it's all 4D chess.
It's laughable how stupid all this is.

Incorrect. Pre - Trump BS 3-4k a year in business expenses refunded.
Since that GOP shit storm I get more back standard deduction - 1200.
It wasn’t a tax break to help people. Just handicap working expenses

I think a South African Nazi creating the America Party is one of the craziest, hilarious, and most “only in America” ways for us to finally ditch the two party system lmfao.
For that reason and that reason alone, I hope he actually has a degree of success in this. I hope some candidates get elected and they openly oppose trumpism. Even if it’s a shit party and a waste of time or even further right than Trumpism, it’s not going to have the infrastructure to replace the GOP overnight. If other political parties get any kind of foothold into this mess, then this is a success. Even more so if those parties come from the left, like they should.

This bill didn't have anything to do with ACA subsidy's. Biden increased them under the inflation reduction act and they are expiring as that was how that bill was written. You're problem isn't with the GOP or this recent bill. The more you know....

BBB is one thing, HJ Res 88 is going to turn Tesla into in unprofitable business. Basically, car makers are not longer obliged to buy Zero Emission Vehicle tax credit from Tesla. Bye-bye, free money.
Also, starting a new political party and trying to sway Republicans into it won't be taken gladly by Trump and GOP.

Musk is 100% the reason Trump is currently sitting in the White House. From purchasing Twitter that was used to push massive misinformation campaigns, to giving over 1/4bn in campaign funds - some of which were literally used to buy votes, to other sketchy shenanigans involving possible voter fraud and voting machine manipulations.
I don’t expect his new party to actually do a whole lot, but he will inevitably pull voters his way, combine that with incredibly deep pockets and an en even bigger ego he is a very credible and real threat to the GOP. Plus he was on the inside for first few months of trumps presidency, so he is well aware of buried skeletons.
Don’t write him off just yet.
